The concept of the Exhibition
Being the first majority-female edition since it started in 1895, the Venice Biennale directed by Cecilia Alemani (April 23 - November 27, 2022) will make history for women artists and the global art world. On this historic occasion, the Artemisie Museum launches its first virtual exhibition dedicating it to three women artists active in Venice between the 16th and the 18th centuries. Visit the “Gallaria à terreno” (on the Ground Floor) of the Artemisie Museum and discover the lives and work of Marietta Robusti (Venezia, 1560 ca. - 1590), Clorinda Regnier (Venezia, 1629-1715) and Giulia Lama (Venezia, 1681-1747). An exhibition-itinerary in another, almost unknown, Venice.
Prima edizione a maggioranza femminile dalla sua nascita nel 1895, la Biennale di Venezia diretta da Cecilia Alemani (23 aprile- 27 novembre 2022) riscriverà la storia delle donne artiste e la storia dell’arte e della cultura. In questa occasione storica, l’Artemisie Museum lancia la sua prima mostra virtuale dedicandola a tre artiste attive a Venezia tra il XVI e il XVIII secolo.
